Getting there & the Drake Passage
The Drake Passage is the ~800 km stretch of open ocean between Cape Horn and the Antarctic Peninsula, and the crossing takes about 48 hours each way. It is famously unpredictable — you may get a calm “Drake Lake” or a rolling “Drake Shake” — but modern expedition ships with stabilisers handle it routinely.
