Antarctic departures in February 2028

February is whale month: humpbacks, minkes and orcas feed intensively in the Gerlache Strait and the bays, and Zodiac encounters become almost routine. Receding ice opens the deep south — most Antarctic Circle crossings run now. Penguin chicks fledge and adults begin to moult.

Temperatures ease off but remain comfortable; days shorten enough to bring back proper sunsets. A sweet spot of wildlife action and slightly softer prices late in the month.
