HX Expeditions has released its 2025 ESG report, its first aligned with the EU's European Sustainability Reporting Standards, alongside a new sustainability strategy with measurable targets through 2030. The report cites a 12% cut in CO2 emissions, reductions in sulphur and nitrogen oxide output, and plans to expand free cabin nights for visiting scientists by 30% from 2027, reaching 3,900 nights across its fleet.
The report also details polar-specific initiatives, including dedicated science cabins on every Antarctic voyage supporting whale, penguin and marine ecosystem research, noise-reduction studies in Svalbard's fjords, and locally designed experiences in Greenland. In the Northwest Passage, HX says its operations generated over €337,000 in direct economic impact for local communities. The report also notes a world-first observation of icefish spawning behavior near Danco Island during the 2025/26 Antarctic season.
