HX's charitable arm, the HX Foundation, has launched a 2026 fundraising campaign marking HX Expeditions' 130th anniversary, aiming to raise over €130,000 per ship through onboard giving, events and 'Green Stays.' Funds will support five anniversary grantees working on endangered species, marine plastic pollution and local communities, including Antarctic whale research with the California Ocean Alliance, Greenland youth programmes, and ocean science collaborations with GEOMAR and the Alfred Wegener Institute.
For polar travellers, this means continued onboard science and conservation initiatives on HX voyages, including whale research in Antarctica and ocean carbon measurement projects in remote polar waters. The Foundation will also keep its Rapid Response Fund and existing partnerships with RSPB and Happywhale running, while introducing a limited-edition charity item to be auctioned on each ship during the campaign, with proceeds supporting the selected causes.
