A few ice-class ships carry helicopters, adding an aerial dimension no one else gets: flightseeing over ice shelves, glacier landings, and access to otherwise unreachable sites — including, some seasons, the Snow Hill emperor penguin colony.

Flights are weather-dependent and rotate all passengers in small groups; on emperor-focused itineraries they are the whole point of the ship.
